New Blog Post

It’s been a busy start to the season! We managed to get some decent points in the first four races and aren’t in the traditional points hole to start the year off (currently third).

I think looking back at this point the race NOLA was a write-off because of the weather conditions. We had a good car in practice when it was dry but were never able to show it because of the constant rain. It was a shame for the fans in the first year of an event so hopefully we can come back next year and do it right for them.

Long Beach…what can I say? We finally won one of the biggest races in the world. The race was in its 41st year this season and I’ve been trying to cross that one off my list in the IndyCar series after winning in Indy Lights way back in the day in 2000. We had a great Target car that weekend and hundreds of sponsors all in town which made it an ever sweeter victory for me and the team.

I’m starting to wonder what I did to Barber Motorsports Park now…six races, six podiums, but we still didn’t make it to the top step there. The racing was really great with the compound of alternate tires Firestone brought. You really had to manage them and when they went off you had to hang on for dear life. There was tons of passing and I heard a lot from the fans that weekend about the quality and excitement of the racing.

Well I don’t have to mention it but it is officially MAY. This is my favorite time of year in Indy. There is so much excitement in addition to all the build up to the 99th Running of the Indianapolis 500. We start this weekend with the Grand Prix which I’m looking forward to. Lots of back and forth with aero kit testing on the oval, the road course race and then the 500 later this month. I hope everyone catches all the great action at the speedway this month. We’ll be gunning for the Borg Warner again!

….until then…
