New Blog Post

It’s crazy to think this season is almost half way over. I think given our slow start to the season, we could be a lot further back than eighth in points as we sit here with two weeks off before our second doubleheader races of the year in Houston.

Indianapolis was a race to forget this year for us. We always start the season with two goals in mind…win the 500 and win the championship. We didn’t get the results in May this time, and when you don’t win at Indianapolis, nothing else matters. It was a frustrating month for us but everyone on the team worked hard. We just have to move on and focus on the championship now.

The next four weeks of racing will be tough. Two races in the heat in Houston, Pocono, Iowa and then two more in Toronto – all in consecutive weekends!

It will be a tough stretch for us but we've had four days of testing to try and turn things around….Iowa, Milwaukee and Sebring for two days. We went there looking to find that speed we’ve been missing to this point in the season. I’m optimistic we can get things pointed in the right direction.

We’ve come back from deficits before to win the championship in year’s past, and we’ll just have to go to work to find a way to get back in the title fight.

I also had a really cool Father's Day with the girls, and even managed to catch a USCA midget race as part of Indiana midget week last Sunday at Kokomo. It’s been nice to have a few weekends off to get some home projects done. I’ve even become a pro at power washing...

….until then…

Enjoy the racing!
